Justin,

Strip off the aqua mix sealer and clean the slate and apply Richard James
Stone Loc 2 coats this will give a nice gloss finish and will wear well.
My guess is the steamer is breaking down the Aqua mix sealer. Get the
customer to stop using a steamer to clean with , steam with no cleaning
chemicals cleans nothing. To clean you need a cleaning solution neutral
cleaner something to break down the dirt in the pores within the slate.

Finished a slate job about a month ago and the aqua mix high gloss sealer is
dulling out. I've asked about how there cleaning the floor. They have
cleaning lady (the homeowner has no idea) and also use a steamer. I've used
aqua mix sealers on slate for years and never had a issue. Any solutions and
product recommendations would be appreciated.
Thank you
Justin
