We use to be against the steamer. The last couple of years we have been asking people whose floors look well cared for, but just need a little attention, what cleaning process they use.  Almost everyone says that it is the steamer, and they all seam to love them. I personally don't think that the amount of steam produced and the speed they are sliding them across the floor really hurts anything. I believe if you keep the process simple, it's likely to be done more often. We present the pros and cons and the information we have heard about weakened sealers. If the owner wishes to use a steamer we let them make the final decision, but caution them to use it only after a thorough vacuuming is done.
