For those who are interested in electrostatic sprayers; there are 3 companies that sell a quality product: Clorox, Victory & IsoKlean.

I use an electrostatic sprayer because I believe it provides more thorough coverage than foggers. For disinfectants; I highly recommend a disinfectant that contains dimethyl ammonium chloride. There are several products on the market that have this formula; Clorox Total 360 disinfectant is one. For protection when applying, I wear an P95 respirator, goggles, long sleeve shirt & long pants. This is the method I’ve been using; everybody has their own system. I recommend anybody that is interested in adding this service: do your own due diligence.

What I’ve been doing with my customers is recommending the service as a one-time application. Some of my clients have opted to have the service performed immediately; others have decided to wait until a staff member is diagnosed with the virus.

The electrostatic sprayer is so beneficial for myself & the customer because it allows me to provide sanitizing coverage at a speed that enables me to provide the service at a reasonable cost to the customer; and at the same time enables me to maximize my profits. When my customers calculate the cost of paying their staff to disinfect their entire facility with disinfectant wipes & spray bottles; they understand that I am actually saving them money. Educating the customer is the key.

On a personal note, I’ve been in business for over 40 years and some of my clients have been with me that long. I’ve built my business on the principle of building lifetime partnerships. My business philosophy has always been based on the principle of providing exceptional value for my customers.

Thanks,

Brian

I would like to encourage our partners to be great citizens and hold their prices to reasonably cover your costs, keep solvent and have logical profit.  I am charging nearly the same per hour for disinfection as I am for stone polishing so that I am not overly taking advantage of a horrible national emergency.  This may not be a popular position in this day of "what the market will bear" but I, personally don't like the karma of taking advantage of fear.  Think of using goodwill as a way to get more market traction in the future and building lifetime customers.  Or of using disinfecting technology in an affordable way to create contract opportunities for ongoing income sources.  The fear of germs isn't going to go away so build awareness and a solid customer base for ongoing treatment as needed.  The customer will come back to you when they know you have brought value.  Of course those prices are by region and Brian is in an expensive area so I don't mean this to reflect on his pricing in a major market.  But if I priced my services at $300 per hour, I couldn't sleep at night.  Just sayin...

Hi from Down under.  This is a most valid concept and one we would like to explore in Australia.  Brian are you using this system with your existing clients to market this service to it putting out general marketing.  If so, who are you selling it to, who are the main takers? $300 per hour, per operative ? That’s very impressive and I would like to move on this straight away before we’re all in shut down. Could you offer some advice please Brian.  Regards Liz @ Sealwerx West Australia

That’s a good point. We clean medical facilities & commercial offices; so we wipe down surfaces first, so the efficacy of the disinfectant we administer via the electrostatic sprayer is not compromised by soiled surfaces.

We have done some disaster relief and after using a disinfectant in a fogger or electrostatic sprayer, it is industry standard to follow with wet wiping by hand all major touch point areas.  Disinfectant doesn't disinfect soil, so using rags soaked in a one minute kill rate solution after everything is fogged or sprayed assures that soil is removed as well on these frequent touch point areas.

Just something to be aware of.

Joyce

I’ve been using a system from Isoklean. It consists of a highly concentrated disinfectant with an Electrostatic Sprayer. With this system, I can completely disinfect 6,000 square feet per hour. I’m currently making $300/hour with this system. Website: Isoklean.com

Mike Barber is the president of the company. His email address: mbarber@isoklean.com

Brian

Pat, thank you for this update/thoughts.There have been some conversation and exploring about providing a disinfectant services for our customer base. I understand there are products formulated for this purpose.

I would appreciate comments from you and any of the partners regarding the need/value of offering this service to our customer base.

Stay healthy and be careful everyone. Even though everyone still needs to pay bills it is not worth risking your life or others.

I figured I would touch base and let everybody know how we are handling it over here in Phila. We are screening our residential customers to make sure everyone in their house is healthy before proceeding with their work.

Our night crew are the lucky ones. Most of the building in Phila are limiting access so we are allowed to go in for monthly maintenance.

Our employees are directed to take their temperature before coming to work and we will give our employees paid time off if they get sick and under a doctors care.

Hope everything works out for the rest of you.
