Antonio,
I have several question regarding your comments. I always look
at productivity and profitability for any and all Jobs. I was wondering
when you stated it takes you 6 to 8 hours to compete granite countertop
job usually how many sq ft are these projects, 6 to 8 hour seem high but it
depends upon the size of the job and the services you are performing.
Understanding the stone certainly helps especially with granite.
CAUTION
The comment telling the customer the test is at their own risk
will never fly if you damage a countertop unless you have it in writing , if
any damage occurs the customer will probably try to come after you or your
insurance carrier unless you have the customer signature on a document stating
own risk.
If you could tell me the size of the countertops that take 6 to
8 hours to complete and the services you are performing I made be able to
assist you in increasing your productivity

If you ever saw a granite slab that what looked like spider webs
under the gloss, that what pectro is for, you don’t need to use both ager
and pectro. Ager as well, is a tough product to use on polished granite
and on granite themselves especially close to the joints or seems of the
counter. When you try to enhance a finish chemically you really need to
be careful, just look at the sample I did last week of a flames granite floor,
look closely on the seams. That being said, Tenax has time and time again
completed many jobs for me perfectly.
On a counter I tell the customer I need to test, I need to do it
where the microwave will be or similar and it’s at their own risk and all
subject to their own cost.
Topical Coatings- never!
The best shine is obtained by granite tin oxide- done right , a
counter takes a full day to do or 6-8 hours, from start to clean up.
I maybe unclear about what it is you really wanted, why would
you suggest topical. Is it a budget issue? Is it a time issue?

Baird,
You can try some mb-20.If you have a gloss
meter its possible you will be able to show your customer the difference of
before and after. It may surprise you and your customer by increasing the
luster a good percentage.
You can use it like a powder and go
slightly wet to dry using a very small amount.
Used correctly there wont be much splatter.
We tested it and it is a true mechanical
polish.
Call me if you like I will send you some.

Powder polishing will not touch
granite, unless it is tin oxide. Topical coatings should not touch polished
granite either. If there is a finish issue it can be improved a little using
Pectro, by Tenax. The best enhancer would be Ager, by Tenax.

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has favorite products for topical sealing of granite
counters (or at least a more effortless way to bring back some shine). I
have a new customer who has a granite counter top that appears to have no real
etching and the shine is still pretty good. She would like to enhance it.
I gave her two quotes, one for powder polishing (which she rejected) and
another for cleaning and a topical treatment). That being said, she is
not looking for a level of gloss and clarity that would come with real honing
and polishing. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Baird
