Hello Austin,

Yes, staining terracotta is no problem; as long as you follow some key important steps and precautions.

Make sure that what you have is really terracotta (clay) tiles. Many knock offs out there.

Remove any finish that is already on there i.e. sealer, wax, or any surface enhancer. (This is the tricky part and technique will vary).

Choose a sealer that will take to a stain or dye, apply with an airless gun.

We provide some of the best sealers on the market (expensive but worth it) that will take a stain.

Best Wishes,

Hello everyone, I received this email and was wondering if any one could shed some light on this? Thank you in advace for any help provided.

"Hi .....found you on the internet and was wondering if you could advise.
We have terracotta tiles in a large area of our house ...kitchen, dining,
hall, bathroom, laundry. We don't like them but it appears that it would be a nightmare removing
them.Is there any way we could stain them ....a dark colour, grey or black for
example. Our house is contemporary in design and ideally polished concrete or similar
would have been best when built.

Have you heard of staining terracotta tiles"?
