Wow George! I didn’t know you cared, yes very observant
but I don’t think it was Maybelline because as soon as I washed it the
lipstick came off.
I am afraid of the iron out, for one reason. A few years
ago , it caused many pits and took a lot of grinding to get it out. Statues
cannot be handled the same way we do floors, we cannot remove any stock.
Statue was conceived by a Hungarian gentleman called Paul Lancz.
He is remembered by his son Peter Lancz who now resides in California. He is
looking for new locations to place new statues as this one. It’s called
Tenderness, showing a mother and her child.

Sleep...huh a concept I haven't heard of...lol.
In the photos it looks as if someone has kissed the statue
with lipstick which may be an oil base stain... maybe the HG oil and stain
remover or maybe even some basic makeup remover with a microfiber
towel??? The bottom does look a bit rusty or stained with a red clay to
me. Then it also looks like it might have areas discolored from the
pollution from rain water. I think the Iron Out poultice should take care
of that. It is a really pretty statue though.

I recently restored a white marble statue. I still need to remove the
discoloration at the lower part of the statue. I have tried to do a
poultice test but because it is in the middle of a public area, every time I do
a test, some curious passerby ends up removing it or it gets rained out.
I need to make sure I am using the right product, I will then proceed to do the
poultice and barricade the whole statue by making a plywood box covering the
entire statue. But I really only have one chance to do so.
What product do you think I should use?
Is there a product I could spray on without poulticing .
