I agree with Fred the best way to attack this problem id to try polishing off the darken edges. Caution if this does not work and you need to go the acid cleaning the acid may lighten the color of the grout.

possibly but it depends on the type of grout..Pray its not expoxy.  Try first a polishing powder..if its surface it might come out. If not you may have to try a good hard scrub with a  mild acid and then rehone and polish.
