Hot water will make any alkaline chemical faster. The questions is do you want to do it faster. If your happy with your current method and you can do it competitively its up to you. On the other hand it is a good idea to have as many tools in your arsenal as possible

Roger,

I have a truck mounted system with water so hot you can't touch the QD's. I also have a portable (Whisper 1500). I haven't noticed any significant difference between the two machines for stripping. For stripping a water based topical finishes, I prefer cold water. Many strippers contain butyl, hot water will create a very strong odor.. Also butyl is very volatile and quickly evaporate from the solution if exposed to high temperatures reducing the strippers effectiveness.

You can purchase a hot water heater for portables. The electric units don't work very well, but the propane units do a good job.

Subject: [sccpartners] Removing Coating From Limestone

I'm looking @ a job that has a coating on Limestone. For me to remove it, is no problem. Now the guy I competing against has a hot water extractor and claims that his results will far superior than mine. My question is, is that true? If his work is as he claims is the difference between day and night, then I want him to have the job. I would appreciate any feed back!
