First I would check to see if there is moisture in the stone, then proceed from there. If there is moisture in the stone and it’s interior I would try to dry to stone ASAP using fans and dehumidifiers. If the stone is exterior I would get fans in it ASAP so the stone will  dry. If the stone goes too long you may see other problems starting , oxidation, discolored ( darking)   etc. once this occurs this could become a non removable  stain.
