Test test test..if the grout was painted correctly it wont come off. Perform and demo and tell her what the outcome is..It is what it is.

Not yet.  She painted the grout herself, does not have any left, and I am afraid of scratching off the "paint below the paint".  She is moving out and we are cleaning her carpets and she asked if we could look at it.  I am inclined to not make it a much bigger problem, as it probably won't impact the sale of the house that much.
