This looks like it could be
iron oxidation. I would test it for iron. You will need to pick up some ALPHA
RSR 2000. this is a gel..Put a small dab of it on the stain and wait and see if
it turns purple within 15 mins. IF it does you have iron oxidation. You can
remove the iron with some iron out and a poultice but the problem is going to
be constant wetting. ONce the iron is removed and the stone is dry you need to
seal the crap out of it and hope for the best
