Canterra is very very porous so any cleaner you use on it you will first need to wet the stone. Wet it throughly and than use a good heavy duty cleaner. Make sure to rinse very well.   As far as grinding, yes it can be honed but it is very abrasive and you will co through a lot of diamonds. I would not hone it for less than 3 dollars per square foot
