Also, depending on the manufacturer...generally on the back panel of the grout it usually advises to not use sanded grout for stone.
The MIA design manual does not have a spec for grout..All they say is if you use sanded grout on marble to tape the marble. I know I cant believe it either! However I believe the TCA states that unsanded grout should be used on grout joints 1/8 inch or less and sanded grout for wider grout joints.--
