Barry,
Usually the best way to remove paint is with a paint stripper. Be
careful this will remove the paint from the tile and if you’re not careful will
remove the paint from the surrounding areas.

Hi folks,
I have a friend who wants to remove paint from glazed tiles around a
fireplace. it was painted about 1920 and oddly enough he is having
problems with the smooth tiles. any help would be appreciated.
