Roger,
The honing powder will work , somewhat as well as diamonds. I always
prefer diamonds over powders when honing out damage. You can get a 250 grit
honing powder from StoneCare Central. They carry 100,250, 400,800,1800
Regarding the limestone, Roger when you were in training remember
we used a hog hair pad and attached the diamonds onto the pad, I would use this
method and the pad will follow the floor. If this is going to be a honed
finished floor you may need to remove the damage with a lower grit diamond and
then use honing powders to achieve the final finish.
If this did not answer all your questions , call me on my cell
phone, I’m traveling this week and can talk to you as I drive

Subject: [sccpartners] Two ?????
All I was curious about scratch removal. Will 280 honing
powders remove scratches as effect say as 220 diamonds. I use that as
comparison since they do not know of any 280 diamonds. Or will honing powders
remove scratches at all? 2ndly, I have a customer with a limestone floor that
has a too rough of finish due to someone acid washing the floor. I know
that I can use diamonds say up 400 grit to give the stone a smooth finish
followed with honing powders. But my concern is unless I grind the
floor flat I will not accomplish a consistent smooth finish on all the tiles.
Is that a valid concern? Thanks, RK |
