Whenever using stripper that contain methyl chloride be careful this can and will damage wood work and surrounding areas if not masked and protected properly. Over the years I have walked away from most of the jobs that require the use methyl chloride, this is had to protect the surfaces and it’s hard on your employees. Also the disposal of these products need to be hauled off from the job site. You cannot dump these bi products down the sewer system.   If you do and get caught the fines are HIGH. My word of advice

I really like Aldon Premium Gel Stripper, as Stuart mentioned.  I have used it on acrylic and other materials.  it is not as noxious as other products with methlyn chloride or acetone bases and, unlike most strippers, stays in place.  It is also fairly expensive (about $45-$50 per can) so work it into the price.  It's main component is dichloromethane or methyln chloride.  By the way, the main component of mexiglaze sealer is also dichloromethane, accordign to msds sheet.

The sealer is an acrylic base so standard strippers should work on it.
