You could check out the Aldon Chemical website under slate sealants.  They have basically 4 food groups :1. Non color enhancing no gloss (same day sealer), non color enhancing glossy sealer (crystal sealer) both of these are water based, color enhancing non glossy (SBS sealer) and color enhancing glossy (porous stone sealer) both of these are solvent based.  They recommend a topcoat of Lifeguard, which is similar to many thin polymer coatings.  The lifeguard will give a low sheen to the non glossy sealers.

Can someone recommend me a good glossy sealer / color enhancer? I've been using 357E Stone Sealer Enhancer from Gran Quartz. It is good, not yellowing and durable sealer enhancer but unfortunately smells badly. I am planning on using that on cleft finish slate (interior) and apply 2 coats.
