Tony,
There is not anything we can do about the freight, I would
suggest ordering products by the pallet , this would save you money. By being a
partner you are saving on product purchase between 10 to 15 % of open market
pricing for material and supplies. This alone should save you money. Example if
you purchase 5X powder as a non partner this product would cost you $349.99
as a partner your cost is $279.99a saving of $70.00 . if you purchase a case of
neutral cleaner as a non partner your cost would be $143.96 as a partner you
pay 86.37 a savings of 57.59. On triple thick diamonds as a non partner you
would pay $15.00 per diamond as a partner your cost is $13.00 a savings of
$2.99
In each case the partner cost would more than pay for the freight.
And if you would order enough to make up a pallet the freight would be lower
than shipping UPS or Fed Ex ground and the product would arrive in the same time.
On the 5X polish you save 20% on the neutral cleaner you
save on a case of product 40% on the diamonds you save 13 %
If you were buying products of equal quality you would be
paying more and still have shipping costs. Unless you are trying to buy from local
supply houses, then you are driving to these places which takes your time fuel
and energy. I would spend this the time it take to go to these supply houses
and make sales calls , use the time to network and build your business and you
need to take into consideration what your time is worth.
The cost of quality products never concerned me. Your cost in
the stone business should not exceed no more than 5 to 7 % of your sales. If your
cost are running higher than that you are not using your product properly. I am
always more concerned on labor cost then on product cost. On labor your cost should
you should be operating in the 26 to 29 % range.
So at the end of the day if you have labor cost of 28 % and
material and supply cost of 6% you have costs of 34%. Therefore your gross
margin are going to be 66% and you over head should not run more than 40 to 45
% this means you net profit is going to be around 26 to 24 % .
Sorry I spent so much time on a simple question, but sometime we
worry about the little things and the bigger expense controls we miss.

Hi John, Is there any way to get a better price on shipping. I
would order more products but the shipping kills us in CA. Thanks Tony Warney

Paul,
Where have you been for the last year and a half? The care
product line that we StoneCare Central has been developing is just for that
purpose. There is a complete line of care product that has a space for you
company name to be placed on each bottle. Yesterday you should have received
new draft of the customer product book that you can leave with your customers.
If you recall in your training we talked about the importance of
selling care products after you complete your jobs. These products need to be
carried on your truck and actually sold to the customers after you complete the
job.
Debbie and I and others have worked the last year at developing
a complete product line to assure you have a ONE stop shop for consumer
products and pro products. There is really no reason to have any other source
for products other than StoneCare Central.
It’s amazing that I can run my restoration business and
not have to purchase from anyone other than Stonecare Central.
Unfortunately too many of our partners waste too much time and energy
purchasing products from several different sources. Basically StoneCare
Central has everything you need. If they don’t have it let us know as we
can add the items you and other may need.

Whats the most common question customers ask after you finish
restoring their marble floor ??
"How do I care for my beautiful new floor ??" I would
love to have a bottle of neutral cleaner to leave behind with my company name
on it. Does anyone have any info about a company who offers such a service.
Obviously there would be an order minimum to make it worthwhile for the
printer. I have no problem with this as the cost would be figured into the
price of the job. Just need to find someone who will do it......
