Not sure what the correct term is, have heard it called “coraling” but it is where the surface appears etched and loses its hone, and subsequently gets a light/white cast to it.

 

STP had a UV resistant sealer, not sure if that would do anything.  What about a colloidal silica consolidant?

 

Has anybody ever tested a solution?
