It just needs to dry out.  You will have to keep cleaning the efflorescence salts, you can use a very light acid solution to neutralize (remember a neutral cleaner is not a neutralizer), not allowing the cleaning solution to sit for long and exasperate the problem by excessive wetting.  Those floor mats should be gone, especially if they are rubber backed.

Hi,

We just finished the heavy lifting on a heavily coated slate and brick floor. Came out looking really great except that there are some areas of hard water deposits/efflourescence still remaining on the surface, particularly in the entryway.  Was wondering what product(s) people have had success with as far as removing this white stuff.  See pictures below.
