Roger,

 

Sorry for the delay in my response. Looking at these pictures it appears there are lime and calcium deposits that are collecting on the stone. Even with a deep well you will still have the natural minerals  in the water that will cause these problems. You will probably need to clean the stone using an acid based cleaner and then seal the stone with a Solvent Based Impregnating Sealer.

Subject: [sccpartners] Water Fall

 

I looked @ a residential job today with an indoor water fall. Please see attached picture. The water fall has been in the home for 10 plus years. Recently they have had problems with the white mineral on the stone.  Any thoughts on what is causing the mineral build up. They do have well water but the home owner said that they drilled the well extra deep to get fresh water, thus they have no water filtration system in the house. Thanks for your help!
