You can get brushes from alpha tools , tenax also has brushes for your hand machine. I don’t recommend to use honing powders at the end. It will take away for m the finish you created with the brushes. The brushes come in grits from 36 up to 320 this will achieve the finish you will probably need. Just a note I currently have a set of brushes from Alpha for floor machines that are designed for antique finishes and I think they will also give use the finish we need to match the brushed finishes. These are testing brushes that are not yet in production but after further testing will be put into production. We will plan on holding a class on the use of the brushes for both hand machines and floor machines.

The plan is to remove those scratches individually (only about 6 sq ft) with flex backing pad and wet sand paper. Than to recreate the texture with brushes and at the end to refinish with honing powder and color enhancing sealer.
Do you know where can I get decent brushes?

Adam: I know exactly what you mean, that is a tough one. Brushes are difficult to remove the scratches if they are deep, but if you use diamonds or paper you will see a line. Maybe see if you can get some course diamond brushes for removing the scratch, then follow with the regular carbide brushes.

your best bet is to use the brushes...Its the only way your going to get the texture.

I already tried that, the problem I am having is that I am removing texture in the same time as removing scratches. I need something to make the texture back into the stone. I am not that worry about recreating finish as of making the texture the same. At this point I think that I will probably end up buying those antiquing brushes unless somebody has different method or idea.

There is Alpha, Sia, to name just a couple, 5" Velcro backed paper, aluminum
oxide grit and thay work super well on travertine. You keep working them and
as they load they will start to polish, a 400 grit will remove damage then
bring to a high hone similar to most factory finishes. Does take some
practice however.

I use paper pade followed by a 80 grit tynex brush you can get in 10 inch
and will work well with a milwalkee 9550. Think is is johnsons jan supply

How do you remove scratches from tile which has honed, brushed finish with
bush hammered edges?
Scratches are equivalent of 200 grit and there is about 6sq ft of the
damaged area so I am planning on using Makita. Travertine is the material.
I have 2 tiles to practice and I am looking for any ideas.
Is there a way to do it with out spending fortune on brushes?
