This looks like a condo/apt turnover in which the prior owners didnt take care or bother or couldnt effectively seal their counters. That looks like Kashmir white, extremely porous material. Gonna be multiple apps and a crapshoot for success.Try the degrease like fred said or try hydrogen peroxide(40% volume) and diatomaceaus earth or baby powder. If the customer doesnt have any other refinishing work for us we charge for the initial application and show them how to do the following applications.Usually after telling them the per visit charge they are glad to do it on their own.We let them know this is the most porous countertop you can own-Dont expect miracles. There are other poultices you can use too but start with these. If they do get it out you can go back and seal it but most cases it is just better to move on to other jobs.Sealing it will be an adventure, it will suck up sealer like crazy and you will have to go back to reapply most likely.Good luck.On Tue, Mar 15, 2011 at 9:06 PM, <flooramor@aim.com> wrote:
