Now that's my kind of job-Strip chemically using your favorite adhesive stripper and scrap as much as you can from the surface. The floor may be stained permanently but I would use metals and grind off the leftover residue. Try starting with 120 coppers or 70g metals if you have too.If you can offset the 120 coppers from your pad driver you can get pretty close to the wall.
Use you makita on the edge. Do a sample first you may be able to get most off the glue off and then you can re evaluate from there.

Here is a project I have been asked to bid. It is a marble hallway that had carpet over it. I'm wondering what it will take to get this stuff off without etching the floor any more than it is?  Would nano-scrub work?
Thanks,
Baird
