Thanks for the input guys….

I’ll go high with the grits, and try crystallizer. I am curious to know if 5x will make it pop.

Stu, I have heard good reviews about the new Prosoco guard. I still have a bunch of LS.

I prefer not to buy specific diamonds for this job. I was hoping to use marble diamonds. I could use concrete diamonds. Any thoughts?

Abrasive technology makes a great diamond pad foe epoxy terrazzo. I forget what there called but they are expensive. You can get them from T and M terrazzo in wheeling, IL.

I use a super abrasive product which is a dry diamond for concrete but for terrazzo expoxy you use it wet and treat it like fred said, go thru all the grits up to 3000. Then you can use 5x after you test it to make sure it works. Prosoco just came out with a new product called polish guard that will help too. I havent used it but it is like ls guard but easier to use I hear.

Skip the sealer it's a waste of time. It's hard to see the glass chips in the pictures but I did a Disney Store years ago that was terrazzo with large glass chips and it was trial and error. Try bringing it up to an 800-1500 grit and using crystallizer with white granite polishing powder and that should make it "pop". Densifiers and impregnators wont do anything at all because the epoxy and glass chips have a great chemical resistance and wont react or accept either. About the wax, who the eff knows what ostrich with his head in the sand still recommends it, maybe he thinks it's 1911 instead of 2011.

Hi gentleman,

I need some suggestions on this epoxy terrazzo floor with glass aggregate. It needs the wax stripped, and then I was thinking of running diamonds to 800. I would think next to use a honing powder, as polishing glass and/or  densifying would do nothing. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Could you see just using a honing powder and an impregnating sealer?

As a side point, I find it interesting that the NTMA still lists on their site the proper maintenance for all terrazzo is waxing. It lists diamond restoration benefits as being unknown. What’s up with that?

Best,

Jason
