This has worked for me in the past when you fill holes with an unsanded grout and don't grind after, mix grout wet enough that you can use a tong depressor, scoop the grout up with it and it will run down into the hole, let it way over fill the hole, come back a few hours or one day later and with a straight razor gently saw it through the over fill grout. It worked great for me. Worth a try.
