Actually, upon second look, this looks more like a salmon colored  granite from China. I had to seal 520 of these, sealing a new install in a hotel. We tested EVERY sealer under the sun (511, 511 Porus Plus, Aqua Mix Gold, HMK, Lithofin) and it still would absorb water. I have never seen anything like this stuff. This was 10+ years ago and there are some better sealers now..   Probably best bet will be Dry Treat, Stain Proof.

Subject: [sccpartners] Stained Granite Countertop

Hi everyone,

I am bidding on about 950 kitchen countertops.  They appear to be Granite but might be a composite Granite slab.  All are stained with grease and food.  Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.  One of the pictures (005)  is of the underside which shows an unpolished area, I could not tell if it was actual Granite or manmade.  There only alternative if I can’t restore the countertops is to replace them.

Thanks for your suggestions.
