I am not a fan of sealing stone in an exterior elevation, especially when it has large voids like travertine.  I would opt for no sealer and just a good maintenance program.

I have discovered that at home here in Iowa, they used a tumbled travertine tile 1" thick for the floor of my outdoor kitchen.  Since we have great temperature variations here in Iowa, apparently they have had issues with what to seal it with.  Apparently with the freeze- thaw conditions in the winter, it has caused problem with the tiles breaking up.  Any info would be very appreciated
Thank you
