James,

Here are my recommendations

1.       Use a soft brush on your floor machine and an alkaline bases stripper degreaser this will remove the build up of dirt from the  mopping during their normal maintenance , you will be surprised he dirt you will get off the floor.

2.       After the alkaline scrub then either mop the floor with a neutral cleaner or run the neutral cleaner through you floor machine and do a fast and quick scrub over the floor. This will bring the floor surface back to a neutral balance .

3.       In the dull spots you can take a #1 steel wool pad and crystallizer and polish those areas. this will improve the shine but will not remove the wear patterns. You could offer to hone those areas you would probablt need to start with a 400, 800 ,1800.3000 grit concrete diamond to match the finish. if you hone be sure to use concrete diamonds.

NOTE IF YOU CRYSTAQLIZE THE FLOOR MAKE SURE THE FLOOR IS DRY !!!!!! IF THERE IS MOISTURE IN THE CONCRETE  THE STEEL WOOL COULD RUST THE FLOOR.  IF POSSIBLE CLEAN ONE DAY POLISH THE NEXT DAY OR USE FANS TO DRY.

Subject: [sccpartners] Polishied Concrete Floor

Hello all,

I'm doing a job for a GRAINGER store, getting ready for a big corporate inspection, cleaning their carpet and ceramic tile surfaces.  I was asked if I could do anything with their 2600 sq ft of polished concrete floor in the showroom.  Their current maintenance program is only perodic wet mopping.  The floor is in real good shape except for dull areas where they have high traffic like in front of the counter and at the entrance.  They are just asking if I can make the dull areas a little shinier.  I've thought of mopping with a neutral cleaner followed by a white polishing pad. Have any of you encountered such and if so what have you done?  Any thoughts or suggestions?  No big deal if nothing reasonable can be done, just looking at possibly making an upsell.

Thanks,
