Hector,

This may have been a doctored stone that has lost  it color when the customer use cleaning chemicals on it. The spot that was polished appears to have more shin and more clarity within the stone.

I would try using a dark granite polishing powder and a crystallizer to repolish it or some MB20 . Then apply some Tenx Black Tepox color. this should bring back the color. be careful when using this product apply it allow it to penetrate for a short period then wipe off the excess. Do not allow this product to dry onto the surface. A second application may be needed.

Subject: [sccpartners] loss of black color in granite anyway to re tint black granite?

Customer bought  counter top by mail order and was told it was black granite .

She says it never looked shiny,  Looked dull.

She went to a home show and bought a cleaner not for stone and cleaned the counter top only to lose some of the black color and looks a bit gray and really dull now.

Some young kid  came over and tried to polish the counter top and enhance the stone just in a small spot. See the photos.

Now she is not happy.

I told her that any fix is temporary and I would get back to here for some ideas on how to help her.

She is asking for a re-polish and the black color back and ideas guys?

What to use and where to get it?
