Kevin,
Use clear packing tape. The good stuff not the cheap stuff , cover the inlay and then cut off the excess with a razor blade and you can hone over the tape.
Check your notes from training, you should have made note during the training session. If you missed it then added it in your masking and protection section of the training book.
