Micah,
Nice to hear from you- MB-12 is an interesting product. It is probably hotter than 5x but you dont need water barriers and it is much faster-it doesnt need to be timed abd is easier to clean up. Sounds great except for the fact that it has a learning curve because different amounts of product, water and polishing techniques(moving thr machine fast or slow) are used for different stones. It also requires a machine that will be able to spin it-because a basic technique is to put down a circle of mb-12 about a quaeter to a half in think and wet only the powder on the surface-then using a hogs hair pad you spread it out on say 8 sf and work the slurry until it dries out-then the machine will get tight from the friction but the stone will polish right in front of your eyes and you can move to the next section. Gives the operator a little cardio workout too.
While on a 100 sf marble floor you can use upwards of 20 oz of 5x it will require much less MB-12(probably 5-6 oz tops). Using it on countertops is quick and probably the best way to understand the product is to work with it on some easy stones on a bench top. If you are ever interested just call me and I can walk you thru the process-

Does mb -12 have the same acidic properties of 5X powder, having to create a water barrier etc? Or is it a little easier to use? We have been using 5X but just curious

Thx
