I don’t think you are going to find a product that will totally keep the efflorescence from coming back. There are several reason the efflorescence is occurring.

1. There is moisture that is getting into the stone. This could be coming in from the surface or it could be coming in from the sub straight.

You first need to see if there are cracked grout lines, if the corners of the shower the grout has not separated from stone allowing water to penetrate into the walls

Is the floor drain complete sealed where water is not getting between the drain and the tile.

2. This being a slate the stone if not sealed is more likely to absorb more moisture and then as it dries the efflorescence will appear.

The cleaning process will be to use an acid based product to remove the efflorescence, check all grout line and re- grout where needed, in corner along the floor and the corner of the shower remove the grout and caulk in those places. This will help keep the moisture from getting behind the stone .

Then seal the slate with a good solvent base impregnating sealer. I would recommend using StoneCare Central Solvent based sealer.

I would never make any guarantees to the customer that the efflorescence would not come back. It a shower , a porous stone what more can one say.

Gentlemen,

I just went to look at a slate shower. The slate has a natural finish. No enhancer, no laquer. The owners like the natural finish, however, It is looking rather white with all the efflorescence coming through. The owners want us to clean it and seal it so that the efflorescence goes away and never comes back through the stone. It is on the walls as well as the floor of the shower. Is there a natural finish sealer out there that will do this job? How do I apply it?
