Hi Fellas,
I am hoping I can tap into your brains for restoring a slate
stairwell (actually about 25 stories worth). It is full BLACK SLATE slabs that
are a smooth solid surface. They have been maintained over the years with a
topical acrylic finish, and my goal is to strip off and provide a natural polish.
I have removed scratches from slate, and layers of poly, but never have brought
it to a polish. Has anyone brought a similar slate to a polish and what were
your methods? ……………..Since slate is so soft and scratch-able,
is polishing it even a good idea?
