Just saw your message sorry about the delayed response. Concrete counters are going etch because the sealer has worn off. Chances are they were sealed with a solvent based sealer and not an epoxy. If your going to hone it make sure you have some acetone based stain to re-stain areas. What you have to know if it was stained or is it an intergal color. Don't try it if you don't have the stain to back it up because you're asking for trouble. If you use the stain the first coat of sealer is going to have to spray the first coat of sealer because if you don't know what you're doing the stain will run. Hope this helps.
