Steve the epoxy grout will crack because the cuts will be the control joint. I would tell him to use sikaflex, or a sandable urethane.

Hey all, I just ground a small concrete slab and wanted to know if I can densify before the contractor grouts the cut lines or after. Also what do you think about him using epoxy grout for concete?
