I think I will ask the guy to come to my shop and do sample. I don't believe in this kind of magic and will keep vinegar ready. I should have some info emailed to me and will keep you all posted.
Thank you all.

Thanks Darek
I don't recommend it to my clients either as I have no first hand reports either-- only second hand

They called me few years ago and tried to sell me the system with the "lifetime warranty and all the other good stuff ". When i asked them about marble they said that they don't have anything (obviously) yet.
When i questioned them about the " lifetime warranty" what dose it cover the answer was staining. Further to the conversation when i said that most of the polished granites specially the dark ones don't absorb almost anything and i can warranty lifetime for staining without of sealer and the very expensive application they hang up on me and never called me again.

FYI. Granite shield is sold as a franchise counter top coating system. There are two companies offering it in the Calgary area-- Mcguire Floor covering and Granite Guys

Reports are via clients that it works

Protects against porosity issues on granite and works on protecting sensitive marble.

I have never actualy seen it in place.

Good comment, I failed to look at the name granite shield, of course it would protect granite , granite rarely etches. –

Is anybody familiar with Granite Shield sealer? They claim that it will reduce up to 80% of etching.
