Some additional reasons grout shading occurs includes, but is not limited to:

·         using too much water during clean up

·         being exposed to the sun while other areas cure in the shade.

·         Some tiles like Mexican handcrafted material will pull moisture from the grout causing it to cure at an accelerated rate.

·         Not cleaning excess thinset from the grout joint during installation.

·         Using a fan or air mover  too  close to curing grout.

·         Buffing  grout residue into the joint  with a towel or cheesecloth

·         Not measuring your water during mixing to keep different batches as close as possible.

·         Not allowing the grout to slake  then re-stir so the color pigments fully blend. This somtimes shows up as streaks In grout.

·         Grouting  the same day on a  wet set install

·         Sometimes it just happens no matter how careful you are.

The grout color change could come from where someone use an acid based cleaner too strong in one area. Or as Fred stated it could be in the mixing.

To fix I would recommend a good clean then Color Seal the grout lines.

could be when they mixed the grout they let it sit in the bucket too long and it settled.

What would be causing the grout lines to have two different colors? . Is it due to that the grout lines where colored sealed in the past?
