Tearout would be about $3sf, then surface prep (either grinding or overlay) $2sf, then material, $4sf, then union installation, at least $12sf. So that's approx. $21sf. BUT, that's not the price you are competing against. You are competing against another bid to do the same work. If you can make your work unique that will help (not everybody can offer brushing). I would think $4-5, maybe more if you have to make repairs and grout slurry. You also HAVE to make them understand that their finished product would be a massive upgrade to a un ground sandstone floor due to aesthetics and ease of maintenance (grout will never look dirty). So it cannot be compared to a newly installed sandstone floor. It is unique and custom.
