Hi,My guess is that the house sits on a well and the house is also probably in Florida. When they built the house they never put a rust prevention system on the sprinkler system. The window contractor that installed the windows didn't caulk the windows in the right way or with the right product. The stucco around the window on the outside may also have cracks or the block wall may not be water proofed. Well water often contains high levels of iron (rust) and other naturally occurring minerals. When the water comes in contact with the air, the iron sulfide (rust) oxidizes and causes the rust staining. The water from the sprinklers are hitting the windows and the water is running down the block wall on to the slab inside underneath the marble. The water (moisture) then evaporates up through the mud bed and the marble causing the staining.--On Fri, Jan 20, 2012 at 8:48 AM, Fred Hueston <fhueston@gmail.com> wrote:
