I removed scratches from a soapstone with 400 grit sandpaper and reapplied mineral oil,  turned out nice. Phil

I have never had the opportunity to work with soapstone. I have an appointment to do an estimate. The client thinks it is a soap stone counter. It has some etching.

How do you identify soapstone?  How do you refinish it? Any help would be appreciated.
