they are 1 foot by 1 foot.  very thin hard tiles with no grout.

Hi, I have been asked to look at sprucing up a floor that was installed in a house about 50-60 years ago.  What is this stuff?  It looks likel linoleum or vct, but a sample shows that it is hard and made of a clay substance with some sort of glaze on it.  Wondering if anyone has seen or worked with this.
