The first thing I would have tried would be to crystallize the surface, it that didn’t work then I would have used granite polishing powders and the crystallizer to repolish the surface. This would have taken care of the problem. 

 

The only time you would need to hone granite would be if it was scratched or damaged where the stone needed to be honed.

 

When honing black granite it take time, the reason you probably did not get the color back was there was not enough time spent on each diamond cut and then the polishing process needed to be repeated several time to bring back the color.

Hey all,

We were asked by an installer to fix some "scuff" marks on a few newly installed absolute black granite tiles. We picked up a sample to test and after honing and using the dark granite polish powder from scc the granite is not as black as the factory finish. Can we get that deep black color back?  If so, what do you all use?
