Adam,
In my contract it states we offer a warranty or guarantee on our
workmanship only. Once you leave a job you cannot anything unless they close the
door and never use the areas you finished. You cannot control the cleaning
practices, the day to day traffic abuse and other issue that could take place.
If however you are going to maintain the floors on your schedule
a guarantee my commercial customer they will NEVER restore their floors again
provided we maintain them on our schedule and they perform the duties that are
spelled out in their contract. I have been doing maintenance contract like
this for over 20 years and have never restored a floor once we did the initial restoration
and then performed the maintenance.
A maintenance program like this keep the competition out and
assures you a contract for a long time. In my past I have commercial building
and hotel under a maintenance contract for over 18 years and restored only
once, the initial restoration.

Georgia,
I would not recommend using this warranty , it too open and allows too much liability on you. You cannot guarantee the stone for life when all you are offering is cleaning , sealing . you have not address damages such as scratches, etching , cracks holes etc. workmanship is the only thing you can guarantee unless you are doing a maintenance program that includes diamond honing , polishing etc.
I would recommend you re-think this guarantee .
I will forward some recommendation later , I’m doing a class this week.

Partners,
I was asked to provide a warranty letter with the closing documents for the project we have completed in February. I explained to them that I can guarantee the workmanship only but they are looking for written letter. There is no problem with the slate floor, that we stripped, cleaned and sealed never less they are holding the payment until they get their paperwork in place (BS!!!!!!).
Do you have any letters or written clauses that I can use? I am tired of this bureaucratic crap.
