I use either Stone Pro- Pro Sealer, Ultimate Pro or Porus Pro www.stoneproonline.com
and I stand behind all of these products and have never had an issues with either one of them I pay around 90.00 for the Pro Sealer and $110.00 for the Ultimate Pro................
 
But my question is this why pay 200 or 400 for sealer is it better because it's more expensive?
 
To me price means nothing only quality time and results period.Mb's diamonds are twice as expensive as I could get the Stone pro diamonds or many others but mb's provide more clarity in a faster time so I use them period.
 
Same with the Sealers or any other products I use, my purchases are based upon quality,time and results which products deliver is what is in the van....
 
MB-12 could cost 30$ a lb instead or $10 and I would still use it not just because then I could say I use the most expensive powder on the market..........But because it is Superior
 
No the sealer I would use for that tumbled marble would not be water based.
 
Are you saying a solvent based or something other than water based could not be used in the same day as the cleaning?
 
Saltillo is the only thing that I have ever found that needed longer than a few hours if drying time with a fan on it.Saltillo we will give at least 24 hrs before putting somethinfg topical on it.
 
Marble travertine slate limestone there is no reason these stones can't be sealed after a cleaning the same day........that is MHOP of course

Rod, it seems that your sealer is still much less expensive than what I use. If you use 300$ of supplies I’m supposing you are using a +/-200$ of sealer. And since you are doing it the same day, im guessing its water base. Can I ask what quality water base sealer do you use in San Diego ?

Pricing is something that is hard to calculate for someone else not knowing your experience and market.

 In this case 1500 ft clean and seal me and my guy can do that in 8 hrs even with prep and if you use a splash gaurd the only thing that should need blue tape,red tape and plastic is wood, carpet and stainless steel.

 

Keep in mind we don't use a truckmount either we use a 500 psi portable a swing machine 1 gallon of cleaner one gallon of sealer some hogs hair pads some grout brushes

 

Your cost should not be very much to do this job I am not sure what type of selaer is $400 pr gallon but I am glad I don't use it.

 

So for 1500 ft aroud $1.00 pr ft would be profitable for us $1,500 $300.00 in supplies you still hit your mark of $1,200 pr day which is what a 2 man team should strive for at least.

 

Keep it simple i mean we would all love to make 3.00 pr ft to clean and seal and if you can great but at 1500 ft x 3 $4,500 to clean and seal??I can't charge that here I will get out bid every time..............Now when it comes to restoration diamonds grinding honing polishing etc I will set my mark and know that coit stanley steamer and the chains that are now getting into stone can't compete with my SERVICE

 

But a clean and seal for $4,500 will never happen not now not with as many carpet chains running adds for tile and stone cleaning and sealing.......At least not in San Diego

In our markets Canada , I would charge about 3$ a foot 2$ minimum.

 

But it really, again depends on what your cleaning method is and what sealer you will be using, I have sealer I pay 400$ a gallon while others are 1000$

 

My advice is if your alone or with a helper, don’t undercharge, you have to survive on the profit of your own salary.

 

If you have employees and you don’t want their paycheck to chew up on your salary then it’s a whole different ball game.

 

Under 1000$ a day per team, you will never make it.

In my experience a job like this would go for around a dollar a square foot but you are better calculating by the number of man hours. If your looking at 32 hours of work, multiply that times what you would want  per hour.
