That makes a lot of sense. How about the thickness? What is the difference between the thin pad and the thicker pad? SCC sells them both. Are there different uses for them?

The 3 inch diamonds are going to cut faster since there is greater PSI with a three inch than there is with the 4 inch.  To understand this concept picture a chair with four legs. each leg is 1 square inch. Now place 200 lbs on the chair..You are exerting a pressure of 50 PSI..Now balance the chair on two legs with the same 200 lbs..You just doubled the PSI by reducing the number or square inches of diamonds.
