That makes a lot of sense. How about the thickness? What is the difference between the thin pad and the thicker pad? SCC sells them both. Are there different uses for them?
All kidding aside there is a difference especially when using them on hard granite. The 3 inch diamonds are going to cut faster since there is greater PSI with a three inch than there is with the 4 inch. To understand this concept picture a chair with four legs. each leg is 1 square inch. Now place 200 lbs on the chair..You are exerting a pressure of 50 PSI..Now balance the chair on two legs with the same 200 lbs..You just doubled the PSI by reducing the number or square inches of diamonds.
