Methylene chloride can be found at Home Depot and Lowes. They are sold as varnish removers. Just look at the ingredients. You will see MC on the label along with other solvents such as Naptha ,etc.
Thanks Fred for your reply.Yes, caulking was removed before 1 st application and MEK is sold as a substitute for Methylene Chloride by HD. I don't have msds sheets with me to see how chemically different it is from Methylene Chloride.Where can I get Methylene Chloride? HD, Menards or Lowes in my area sell only MEK.Wow, 15 times x $200 (my min service charge)=$3000. I think they may pull the plug and rip everything up and replace it.My first question is did you remove the caulk. If not it will continue to wick into the sandstone. It may take many applications of a poultice to remove. I have had them take up to 15. Keep poulticing. It may not come out if the caulk causing the staining is not removed. Also use Methylene Chloride.

Over past few months I tried to poultice out siliconized calking stains out of sandstone. I was encouraged seeing improvement after first 2 applications (poultice with MEK) however the third one (HG oil remover from scc) and forth one (MEK again) did not produce any significant improvement. Is there anything else I can do or is it safe to say that it is permanent and farther applications will not work?
