Yes-we experimented with different mixtures- I done with that these days I just wanna be home in time for supper.
There are so many good polishing compounds to work with. If you are getting that overpolished waxy lack of clarity high luster try going to the next grit of diamonds or cut the time back(or the amount of powder) on your polishing. Maurizio always said the polishing was only as good as the honing.
Indiana limestone is a great stone to work with and polishes well.

Thanks guys.  We came up with 50/50 1800grit powder and 5x followed by a green monkey type pad.  Came out looking pretty good.

I did mixed 5x with 600grit honing powder after repair to match the finish with the rest of the floor and it worked very well.

The older polishing powders were just that, ao or tin oxide and oxoalic acid. Should work if you do some testing. Or you can just do a light polish with the 5x.

> Hi. Was wondering if anybody had any experience combining honing powder in 5x. The floor I'm working on is a Tennessee pink marble and needs to be as glowing as I can get it without that glassy look that comes from polishing for a number of reasons. Did well with 1800 honing powder, but a little more oomph would be nice.
