We all can relate to the market and peoples willingness to not spend much money, however that does not change the fact that someone else burned wax onto the floor aka crystacrap and then another contractor came in promised one thing did another.

Obviously the customer is not happy with the way the floor looks and is now calling you in to be the hero and the best part he wants you to do it for cheap because he already spent money with the other guys right???

Well there is no cheap quick fix, keep crystallizing??Putting more on is not fixing the problem in fact it is making it worse  a few more layers of crysta and you will need metals to get it off and I don't know how much experience you have at grinding granite and taking it up to polish but I promise you 16k ft is not cheap or easy.

I would charge him for a demo and start with a low grit honing powder to take the crysta off from there you could proceed with diamonds then mb's new granite paste then maybe suggest mb-8 and maintenance with them explain the difference between mb-8 and crystallizer (if you don't know do some research here and also www.mbstone.com and even some stone forums like www.dirtygrout.com)

As far as using diamond abrasives and polishing with a granite floor it is a must that the floor is flat if not you will never get that floor to factory you don't want 16,000ft of picture frames......

My best advice is be honest with your client explain what he has what he needs and how you will help him maintain it for years to come.If he does not have the money to do it right then I would walk.

As for crystallizing my company does not have a need for it and with all the great info coming out about how damaging it can be from Industry Pros Like
Dr Fred,The late Maurizio Bertoli and Tom Mcnall it's pretty easy to see that waxing stone needs to come to an end.

Good Luck everyone have a great week$$$

Good Luck

Guys,

I have been called by a new potential client who has 16,000 square feet of
granite in the lobby of his building. He has had two of the biggist names
in facilities maintenance handling his floor for the past two years. The
first outfit came in and crystalized. (told client he was receiving
diamond honing and polishing) Second group came in and just maintained the
crystalized floor.(also claimed to be diamond grinding and polishing)
After our meeting, our potential client understands what has been done to
the floor. Now, here is the issue I think we will all face with todays
market. I believe our new potential client has one of two options. 1.
Diamond grind off all crystalizer and repolish our way.(very labor
intensive= high cost per square foot) or we re-crystalize the floor and
maintain it until the economy improves. I was able to contact one of the
large maintenance companies and found out they charge 60 cents a square
foot to crystalize. Does anyone have a similar issue? How much would you
guys charge to do this? Am I on the right track? Thanks in advance for
your input.
