Tony ,
Whenever I leave a floor at a honed finish my final finish is completed by using honing powders, the diamonds most times will leave swirl marks or diamond marks on the stone. The honing powder will remover this and gives you a great finish.
My rule of thumb is if I am leaving a stone at a honed finish, I finish with one grit higher honing powder.

Subject: [sccpartners] Carrera Marble
I'm working on a Carrera Marble floor. I honed it with 220, 400 and then polished with 800 resin pads. It left swirl marks, not scratches. Almost seems like there is a waxy or oily substance in the stone. It has streaks like a teflon chair pad would leave. Any suggestions.
